PLEIN LES MIRETTES

THE HISTORY OF THE MANUFACTURING WORKSHOP BEGINS
IN THE 60S.
In 1980, its strong reputation in the eyewear sector allows to work with the greatest couturiers.
Current production capacity is 25,000 frames / month.
It all starts with the freehand drawing of Christophe Morcamp, which later allows the industrial design in Computer Aided Design (CAD). The latter, once validated by Christophe, allows us the realization of a prototype, entirely by hand.
THE BEST MANUFACTURERS OF ACETATES
We work with the best manufacturers of acetates Mazzucchelli and Laes. Cellulose acetate is a hypoallergenic material, derived from cotton.
To bring strength to the branches, we make a notch on the heel of the branch to shoot a frame in nickel silver.
This operation is carried out in a traditional way by hand.
The CNC machine will mill and shape the "face" of the frame.

INCRUSTATION OF HINGES IS HANDMADE.
Angling branches allows to adjust perfectly to the faces. The screwing of the branches on the faces is achieved by lamain.
The curvature of the faces gives the curved shape, essential for the mounting of glasses.
Polishing is a crucial step. It allows to give the patina of the future bezel. The frames are placed in barrels containing beechwoods. The rotation of the faces and branches in contact with the bows will give a polished and shiny appearance. This step takes place in three different cycles, between cut off a wash and manual drying, and lasts a week.
