Aquila was inspired by the timelessly chic style of mid-20th century French and Italian film stars walking the red carpet. Europe’s beautiful post-war cinema legends have long inspired runway collections. Akoni designers focused on vintage photos from the Cannes and Venice film festivals: the continent’s biggest stars, always in cat-eyes, always paired with a silk scarf. You really couldn’t ask for more old-school glamour than that —and, truth is, that look couldn’t be more right for today.
